Went for my first Soumya live concert and was a bit disappointed. She is very good, but doesn’t seem to let herself go enough and becomes a bit monotonous.

Acoustics in some sabhas are pathetic. And what is it with artistes demanding higher volumes and screaming into the mikes?

Still had the bug with me during the season and, er, needed to use the loo at one concert when everything seemed to be leaving my body. One ladies toilet, in an unsheltered area and pouring rain…the things one does for music! I stood hopping up and down in the rain, waiting for the ancient maami who had gone in to come out. Not that I didn’t keep people waiting myself…

Was chastised more than once for not speaking Tamil while in Chennai. An auto driver thought that was enough reason to throw a fit at me and my aunt. What is a poor visitor to do?
Give me Bombay autos and cabs over those of Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai any day. That is the one thing I will remain parochial about.

Back in London got on the weighing scale, and noted the lost weight with horror. The irony is I hadn’t lost it when all those comments about my weight were made. Had a little crying fit on A’s shoulder. He, meanwhile, is cooking up these huge delicious meals for me. Thank god for him.

The snow is very pretty and all, but have had enough. Don’t want to slip and slide my way to the personal trainer next week. Yes, I am going to start working out!
