Arms vs chicken legs

Going to they gym hasn’t helped me put on weight yet, but it has certainly helped my arms look less stick like.
My arms are a sensitive subject. I’ve always been teased about them. When I was a child other children would make rings around my arms with their fingers and laugh at how skinny they were-not maliciously, but it was a sore point.
Quite a few years ago a random man on the road in London referred to me as a skeleton (I was wearing a sleeveless top on that day).
I have always referred to my arms as chicken legs.
But these days there is a small improvement and I’m HAPPY.
A took a photograph a couple of weeks ago that has my arms in focus. It makes me feel positive when I look at it. People may still think my arms look like sticks, but I know and those near and dear me know, that my arms have changed.
I have a small amount of bicep action going on. Yay!

Whine

We are back from our holiday. It was so lovely, I want to go on it again. It’s nice being back at home, but there’s so much to do-in the house and at work. And despite the sun being out in London, I am still cold. Because where we were, it was warmer.

I have had it with politicians going on about immigrants learning to speak English. Have had to deal with more than one incoherent “native” recently who would do well to learn English from an immigrant.

Health wise, there are a few anxieties that are yet to be resolved. Not helping is the constant pressure from family members to reproduce.

I have skin thinner than an onion peel. Physically as well as metaphorically. The metaphorical part needs work.

Tried to read Eat Pray Love. Thought I would enjoy it, but found it to be slightly boring and overly self-indulgent (like this post), with some really good parts (not like this post). Also read, Edward Said’s Representations of the Intellectual: The 1993 Reith Lectures. Even if I don’t always agree with his arguments, I love the way he writes, so elegantly and so lucidly.

Had an annoying day yesterday, and though A had to go out for dinner from work, he came home for five minutes, enough for a hug.

A, keep those arms around me, always.

A posey picture taken for family years ago-but am still on leaning on him.

And tomorrow we go on holiday. Yippeee!

A sunlit tree. I hang a little ceramic bell on this tree with a bird seed ball. The other day there was a robin pecking at it. He flew off too fast for us to take a picture.

In the secret garden

Hiatus

I have to take a week’s hiatus from blogging as I am travelling on work and doing some other things that I want to do…and going slightly nuts. Just when I want to blog, with a passion. Grr.

In other news, did you Carnatic music buffs know that Ranjani and Gayatri were supposed to come to the UK to perform, but Gayatri didn’t get her visa? Is the UK Consulate mad? So Ranjani came alone. She didn’t have a concert, but had a “conversation” instead and sprinkled that with some music.

There was also Pt Venkatesh Kumar. His first trip abroad. A treat and good to know that he is finally being noticed.
