This is the time of year that the almond tree in our garden looks it’s best. It suffers a bit for the rest of the year, I don’t think the climate is suited to it. Though the tree is in our garden, I think trees belong to everybody.
I am new to this site, and managed to open this post”Spring has sprung”Well I dont know where this garden is,but the pictures really show the Spring bloom coming.I have a little patch in front and at the back of my house in Gurgaon where I have green foliage and few vegitables. And across the small street I have planted few fruit trees(Guava) and now the branches are getting full of fruits. And in my house, you can see the magic of Spring coming—lovely green leaves with flowers-and hundreds colourful butterflies, and mating Bulbuls in the Raat-ki-rani plant. (sorry, no pics this time. (next time)
Virali,no need to sigh, get out of apartment over the week ends and go to near by hills to enjoy .,I did that while living in apartments in Bombay for 35 years.Adds years to your life. Dont sigh, get out and enjoy nature at its best in spring time. (If you are interested you can see the pics and my Posts on “Mussoorie inside out” and “Doing nothing in Fagu” on “Ghumakkar.com”
beautiful photographs: before I read your post, I thought it was a cherry blossom tree.
My mum, on the contrary believes, all the trees in the world belong to her. She’s been lately singing to the neighbour’s trees, who, she claims, are not giving the plants their share of affection.
I envy your celebrations of spring too: so often in my city it’s greeted by oh-nos: in less than a month, searing 40 degrees will be around us, maybe that’s why.
I am jealous. We live in an apartment and can only enjoy trees vicariously. Sigh.

Wow! What a sight to have in your backyard! Beautiful tree.
Absolutely lovely!
Hi Ra, do they show from your bedroom window? and do they give almonds also? The flowers are a lovely pink. Do you get to touch them?
Cheers, Anjali
Not bedroom, but other windows! And yes I do get to touch the flowers, but haven’t ever harvested the almonds.
Wow so beautiful! I have never seen almond trees. How do they grow? is the nut inside a fruit?
Doli, yes the fruit looks like a small peach. Except ours have never ripened and are always green.
