300th post-Please delurk

2008 November 7

For someone who has been blogging for quite a while now, I haven’t written all that much. All the same, this is my 300th post. And I demand, no I beg those of you who are lurking, to please de-lurk, even if it is only by anonymous comment. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeease. Massage my ego a bit (the legs are getting a good massage already :) ).

The rest of you who aren’t lurkers can just congratulate me on my 300th post! As they say in India, “Thanks in advance.”

Congrats on 300!! I’m a long time reader..I think I’ve commented before as Nandita (about “red earth and pouring rain”)..I love your music posts especially..I should make a habit of commenting more often in blogs I read religiously..

You know, I’ve been thinking about you. Because I just wrote an essay referring to that beautiful poem using AK Ramanujam’s translation. Thanks again.

Delurking to congratulate you and tell you that yours is a bit different kind of blog (in a good way). Keep writing (unlike me).

Thank you. Would you like to write?

Sigh, am a woman now. My friends didn’t let me change this silly name decided upon on in a moment of madness. Are you still in Mumbai?

    Alright, if you insist :)
Been reading for a couple of months now. Live in London myself and draw a few big and small parallels from your posts. 300 is good! I’ve technically had a blog for 3 years now and have only barely scraped past 100. Keep going:)

Am glad I insisted! How are you enjoying the cold darkness of winter?

    Hi MG,

Not exactly de-lurking coz I do leave comments now and then but to say I love the writing esp. the bits on classical music. Have been feeling an uncanny urge to take up from where I left off 7 years ago ( seems like a lifetime now) after 15 plus years of rigorous taalim under my guruji and mother. Thanks for bringing a little of that into my humdrum life.

Hi Deea, am glad you enjy those posts. I don’t know much about Indian classical, but really love it and feel the urge to share it. I do hope you start learning again and share your experiences with us.

PS-What’s so exciting and terrifying about the writing process is that it really is an act of exploration and discovery. With all of us, not just writers, there is a sort of knowledge of the other. We have a lot more in common than we realize, and I think writing is really a sustained act of empathy.
