Pramod Navalkar on What he “Expects” from Indian Women

2006 April 7

People are going ga-ga over the way they handled the situation — how Carol graciously held the dress together and completed the walk. I would have liked them to just slump down in shame, abort the walk and rush backstage. This is what I would expect from an Indian woman. My question is — is Carol used to all this? If not, then instead of walking on, she should have gone back.

Just another example of how our politicians have such important issues of national importance on their minds. I’m sure Mr Navalkar would like to see many replays of the show just to ascertain the sequence of events. The scary bit is that his agitation is full of righteous indignation and is not about capitalising on titillation. It is that indignation that is terrifying. Ewww. Freaks me out.

This is what I posted on Mumbai Mirror website:

If I am not mistaken, it was Babubhai Bhavanji who broke up the benches at Five Gardens. That sin is not in Navalkar’s name in my memory. To be honest, it gave the love birds a chance to sit in each other’s lap and more power to them I say. *lol*

Having said that, Navalkar is terribly wrong on this one. He clearly doesn’t understand how the catwalks are organised and executed nor does he want to accept the amazing grace with with Carol and Gauhar acted. Worse still, he is not alone in his line of thinking.
